The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway line will connect Turkey, Georgia and Azerbaijan. The total estimated cost of the project is $600 million and must be completed by the end of 2012.
This Project will improve trade and economic relations between this three Caucasus Countries as well as gaining foreign direct investment by connecting Europe and Asia.
Construction work on the project began in 2007, but in 2009, the construction activities of the BTK railway line were suspended due to the Georgian-Ossetian conflict and some technical problems.
